BUILD-A-BUG (First released July 2022)

This Build-a-Bug embroidery project offers you templates and instructions for making up to 64 unique embridered bugs! Cleverly designed templates enable you to mix and match the designs to create your bespoke bugs.

These bugs are a perfect project to take away with you on holiday, they’re small and portable and ideal for using up scraps of felt and embroidery threads.

I think one of the most enjoyable parts of this project is deciding what your bug is going to look like. I have designed 4 heads, 4 bodies and 4 sets of wings that all work together in a mix and match way.  If you muddle up the wings or have two sets per bug then the number runs into the 100’s. So I believe each of you will create something completely unique!

These bugs make ideal gifts, toys (minus the sequins and seed beads), brooches, pin cushions, mobiles ... so many things.

This download includes all the instructions you need to create your bugs.

You are purchasing a digital file and will have to buy your materials separately (or use ones from your stash). You can buy all your felt and embroidery threads from the lovely Nicole at Cloud Craft - a beautiful small business that stocks an amazing array of 100% wool felt.

Click this link to be taken to her online shop! (this is an affiliate link which means I will get a small percentage of your purchase cost as a thank you from Nicole for recommending her store - at no cost to you!)

You are purchasing 1  instant download ZIP file. Nothing will be sent in the post. You will receive instant access to the ZIP File link on payment, click the link and it will be saved into your downloads folder. Inside the ZIP file you will find separate files with all the information you needL One main download with step by step photographs and instructions and two  Template Files... One set as UK A4 and on US LETTER. There is also a separate SGV file with the templates ready for your Cricut or other cutting machine.

DON'T FORGET - This download link will expire after 30 days. Please download your file before then so you don't lose it. (though you can always email me if this is the case and I can resend the link)

The TEMPLATE PDF has been designed to be viewed or printed as A4 or US LETTER and is monochrome to save on ink when printing. This project is designed to be a decoration and not a toy. As they are hand-sewn there may be small bits that could be pulled off by little fingers. Please keep out of reach of unaccompanied children.

This pattern and instructions are the work of Christine Leech (Sewyeah!) and is for personal, non-commercial use. Please no mass production selling at craft fairs or in your own online store. Small batches for sale at charity events are allowed but please credit Sewyeah!  Reselling, sharing or redistribution of any of the file content is strictly prohibited.
