PERFECT FOR YOUR EASTER TABLE This felt egg holder is a delightful gift for Easter gatherings.

Rather than a full kit I have put together a clever combination of instruction booklet, to scale iron on pattern pieces and a handpicked sequin and bead pack means making your own Songbird Egg Basket just got easier! All you need to do is raid your felt and embrodiery thread stash and get making.

No need to print out your templates or buy thousands of beads you don't need, I have taken my latest digital download and reworked it completely to create a 12 page full colour instruction booklet printed on a lovely matt paper (Ideal if you want to add your own notes in the margins!)

The booklet contains a materials list, my favourite tips and tricks for embroidering on felt, step by step photographs and templates to scale. There is one set of templates printed in the booklet and one set printed on freezer paper. This set can be ironed directly onto your felt, doing away with the need for pins and making them much easier to cut out. They can also be reused several times.

The sparkle kit contains a selection of beads and sequins and gold thread for decorating your Songbirds. This pack contains seed beads in Spring colours, and a mix of sequins of different sizes including black for the eyes. I've sourced all the fiddly bits for you!

ABOUT THE SONGBIRD EGG BASKET

These beautiful embroidered Songbird Baskets were inspired by the birds that visit my garden. They are perfect for holding small gifts – eggs at Easter or little trinkets any time of the year. They woud look gorgeous as part of a Spring tablescape, one  sitting on each of your guests plates or nestled on top of a stocking at Christmas  (the addition of a red felt breast would turn one into the perfect Robin).  The birds are about 7cm high  and fit a decent sized egg!

WHAT ELSE YOU NEED

To complete your Songbird you will need to purchase (or find in your stash) a 20 x 30cm sheet of felt in a colour of your choice for the body, a sheet for the lining and a few different colours for the wings.  I prefer to use 100% wool felt as it is so lovely to work with and is very strong. I purchase mine from Cloud Craft. The colour of the felt I have used for the Songbird in the booklet is Just Off White, for the body then Colonel Mustard and Aegean Blue for the wings. You will also need some embroidery threads in colours of your choice.
