VISIBLE MENDING

Want to rescue your favourite jumper from moths? Bored of holey denim? Or do your socks and tights deserve a longer lifespan? Right now we should all be more conscious of trying to make our clothes last longer and in this workshop you will learn a variety of techniques to keep them out of landfill or away from the ragbag! From darning holes in socks, jumpers and other knitted garments to patching denim and creating elbow patches, you will learn a set of skills that would make your grannies proud.

Bring along your own items of clothing that require some stitched love or practice the techniques on the samples provided. (This does sound a little bit like you'll be darning my socks for me but it will be much more exciting than that!)

This workshop is in association with LoveCrafts. Your ticket price  covers all materials and light refreshments.

ABOUT CHRISTINE LEECH

Christine Leech loves to make things and loves to teach people how to make things! Having written 9 books on subjects from pom-poms to papercraft, printing, stitching and home sewing there’s not many crafts she can’t handle (apart from knitting and crochet!) She’s friendly, approachable and loves a crafty chat. Having run workshops for 3 to 300 people she is proud she’s doing her bit to make the world a more handmade place. Her projects are regularly featured in magazines such as Mollie Makes and Prima she was also one of the Craft Experts on Channel  4’s Kirsties Celebrity Craft Masters in 2019.
