Online Sewing Workshop Via Zoom

About the Event

Taking inspiration from the Japanese art of Origami this bag is created from two rectangles of fabric, 4 folds and just 10 seams (all straight lines so ideal for those not super confident with a sewing machine). It’s lined, stylish, reversible and with the clever addition of a popper in the handle can transform from a bag to a storage box in one simple ‘pop’!

In this online workshop Christine will show you how to make and line your own bag using two fabrics of your choice. You will learn the folding techniques to create the bag shape from simple rectangles, how to pin and sew seams, create 3D corners, how to line with concealed turning holes to make the bag reversible and then finish with a topstitch and popper. Christine will send out written and photographed instructions before the workshop so you will have that to refer to as well as her guidance in the Zoom online workshop. There will also be video tutorials for anyone not able to join the live workshop on the Tuesday evening.

Once you have mastered the pattern you will be able to recreate this bag in any shape and fabric. It is truly versatile and brilliant. As this is now an online course you will need your own sewing machine to participate.

LoveCrafts have a wonderful selection of fabrics to choose from, visit here for inspiration, once you have booked your space you will be emailed a shopping code so you can purchase fabric of your own choice from their website.

This workshop is in association with LoveCrafts.
